Jennifer Brookes: Are you sick of seeing Seattle from every possible vantage point that exists? Too bad. This is where I live. These photos in particular were taken at the water tower in Capitol Hill’s Volunteer Park. If you’re new to the city, this is the best place to visit first, not only because you have a beautiful 360 degree view of the city, but because it’s a five minute walk to Bruce Lee’s grave. The tower is also probably your best bet in case of a zombie apocalypse (or similar dramatic scenario). I had to race the clock for these pictures (which was not a timely process, shooting with a tripod on each of the 180 stairs up the tower), and fortunately, caught the skyline just before dusk faded to darkness.

Eric Peterson: Jenny and I met Jordan O’ Jordan (née Smith) when we saw him perform at a house show in Seattle this past summer with Denver pals Bad Weather California. Jordan is a fantastic songwriter, performer, person, and veritable modern day troubadour. When I heard that his New Zealand-formed band Polka Dot Dot Dot was looking for help booking a Denver date, I felt obliged to put together a good show for them. Last Wednesday, after their soundcheck and before people started to wander in from the bitter cold, I set up microphones in the basement greenroom of the Hi-Dive; Jordan and the other two Dots Onyx and Colleen sang me a couple of their sweet, lullabies. If you get a chance, do check out their new record, Syzygy. Thanks, you three.
