Jennifer Brookes: I really, really like coffee. I drink it more than I drink anything else. I don’t condone caffeine addictions, I’m just saying, be wary of working in a coffee shop, it’s dangerous business. Fortunately, I live in a neighborhood literally surrounded by coffee. A favorite of mine is Espresso Vivace’s Sidewalk Bar in Capitol Hill, Seattle. Maybe it’s the red and green consistency of the kiosk, or the welcoming canopy to hide under while it’s raining, but this espresso bar is slightly reminiscent of Collignon’s corner market in Amélie. Even though most of the baristas are snobs, the espresso is pretty delicious, and the people-watching vantage point is top-notch.

Eric Peterson: I wanted to write something this week that was a full, complete idea that I could use in a band context. What you hear is a thirty second excerpt of an idea from a five minute song. Sometimes all I want to do is start a sad, triumphant rock band.
