Twenty Two

Jennifer Brookes: Eric and I started this project almost six months ago, just two weeks after I started going to Cornish College of the Arts. I’m a little surprised this is the first time I’ve involved my school in one of our videos, because there are so many fascinating things happening there all the time. This isn’t one of those times, but this does show the best part (agree to disagree) of Cornish, the windows. The pictures outside are of the streets that form the Denny Triangle, taken from the school’s sixth floor. The building is small enough that almost every studio (possibly all?) has at least a few enormous windows. My friend Amanda was kind enough to zap all of them open with her magic fingers. Thanks, Amanda. (And a special thank you to Baylee for helping pull all of the blinds with incredible speed and stealth.)

Eric Peterson: I’ve mentioned that my band Old Radio is in the process of recording an album. A few weeks ago, we finished tracking drums for the last of the eight songs we’re recording. I’ve been meaning to add some extra percussion over one song in particular, but sometimes, it’s extremely difficult for me to find the motivation to do something, even though I know it has to be done. This week’s piece is some of that extra percussion layered over top of Chris Durant’s drumming (and Lucas Johannes‘ production). It’s from a song which we’ve never actually performed in front of an audience, and which might or might not be called “Time Capsule in Reverse.” Consider this a 30 second preview, out of context. Thanks, Chris & Lucas.
